The Farm
At Range Road Farms we aim to provide superior produce using methods that are sustainable, which can provide unique challenges in a climate as tough as ours. We use an integrated farming process, which is a dynamic combination of organic and conventional farming.
Through utilizing the best of both modern technologies and traditional practices, we are able to minimize the use of pesticides across the farm to provide a clean end product.
Alberta's climate is unique in that it's tough but excellent for farming, albeit for a relatively short growing period. Our produce is grown, harvested and then stored in a heat and moisture controlled environment which lends to longevity.
Prairie Tough
We grow premium garlic and shallots for both consumption and seed. We are located in central Alberta in a 3b hardiness zone. Growing garlic in our unique conditions exposes the crop to cold winters, hot summers and occasional wet and dry cycles. This variety of conditions yields a product that has strong selection pressure and hardiness. Interested in seed for your garden? Whether it's big or small, get in touch with us here.
Farming Sustainably
In addition to our integrated farming approach, we use solar power to help keep our farm running sustainably. To learn more about the solar panels and solar powered field robot that help to power and maintain our farm, click here for solar panels and click here for the field robot.
